The Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association has taken a stance on personal protective equipment and its role in the fight against COVID-19.

They are encouraging locals and visitors alike to wear a facial covering while working, shopping and walking indoors or even outdoors downtown, according to a KCBIA media release.

"We have seen highly publicized reports regarding the negative impact the carefree behaviours by some groups have created within neighbouring communities," executive director Carl DeSantis said in a release.

"It is essential that we learn from but do not follow the actions of those groups."

As businesses and services are currently open downtown, the business association urges residents to safeguard this opportunity by preventing the spread of COVID-19.
