KELOWNA – A Peachland man with a good sense of humour but a less than life-threatening injury is seeking half a million dollars from the public to help get him through a difficult time.

Jack Klassen filed the tongue-in-cheek post to the fundraising website gofundme.com Thursday morning. He doesn’t have medical bills to pay and he isn’t losing his home to foreclosure. What he has is a stubbed toe.

“After I stubbed my Small toe on the vent I was in Seering Stinging pains I can only compare the pain to the pain of losing a loved one,” are his exact words on the site. “I tryed to sit down but my foot stills stings and now I think my foot is cut inbetween my 2 small toes but I dare not check.” (Again, his exact words.)

Klassen is following in the (painful) footsteps of Zack Brown of Ohio who last year sought to raise $10 to make… a potato salad. He ended up with more than $55,000 after the post went viral.

As of Thursday morning Klassen hasn’t raised any of the $500,000 he is asking for despite his cries of anguish.

"My life is shattered," he says. "Help me I’m in real pain."

If for some reason you want to donate to Klassen's plight, visit his gofundme page.
