Loaded gun found during Vernon overdose reversal

A Vernon man may be charged after he was found with a loaded gun while being revived from an overdose.

Vernon RCMP say a civilian found the man overdosed on the 4500 block of 27 Street.

They started giving him first aid and found a firearm strapped to the overdosed man's body, under his coat, according to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP news release.

Police later arrived to provide naloxone and seize a .22 calibre firearm, along with a loaded magazine, according to the release.

The 23-year-old man regained consciousness and was taken to hospital. He was released from custody but RCMP say he faces "a number of" potential firearms charges.
