Lights, camera, action on Penticton's Main Street

Penticton's 200 block of Main Street was the scene for movie action as filming for the Hallmark movie, "Summer in the Vineyard" took place today, June 9, 2017.

PENTICTON - Downtown Penticton buzzed with extra activity as a film crew set up shop on the 100 and 200 blocks of Main Street today.

In spite of the extra activity, business continued as usual on Main Street and many residents took some extra time to check things out this morning, June 9.

Location manager for the Hallmark movie, Summer in the Vineyard, Ricco Mielnicki says the crew is filming a sequel to Autumn in the Vineyard, shot in the Oliver and Osoyoos area last September.

“This is a continuation of that movie. It takes place 10 months after Autumn in the Vineyard ends,” he says.

Mielnicki says the film crew will be in the Interior for 11 days. They’ll spend today shooting on Main Street and will return to the downtown core tomorrow for some shots centring around the Farmer’s and Community markets.
