KELOWNA – If you’re looking for a little tree decorating inspiration, then you’ll want to be at either the West Kelowna or Downtown Kelowna Light Ups this weekend.
The 28th annual Downtown Kelowna Light Up is an entire day of Christmas events. The official lighting of the huge Christmas tree north of Stuart Rink Saturday, Dec. 3 is the culmination of a food, live music, ice skating, face painting, a bounce house, lawn games, hot chocolate and a BBQ.
Santa himself will light the tree at 5 p.m. and be available for photos for the first time this year, and the Kelowna Community Theatre will play Christmas movies.
The City of West Kelowna is hosting their annual Light Up and Winterfest this weekend at Town Centre starting Friday, Dec. 2. There will be caroling, kids’ activites, hot chocolate and cookies at this free event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the tree will be lit at 6 p.m.
Winterfest takes place at Mt. Boucherie Community Centre on Cameron Road Sunday, Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be free skating, crafts, face painting and cookie decorating followed by a visit from Santa.
Skate and helmet rentals are free during this event however a donation to the food bank is accepted.
