Lake Country man injured by suspect during break-in attempt

LAKE COUNTRY - Lake Country police are searching for a suspect who assaulted a local man during a break and enter today.

Just before 12:40 p.m. today, Feb. 28, Lake Country RCMP responded to a reported assault at the 11300 block of Pretty Road, according to an RCMP media release.

Police encountered a man who had sustained minor injuries after a confrontation with a suspect who broke into the residence. The suspect fled the scene after the confrontation and escaped into a waiting U-Haul vehicle.

Officers, assisted by a police dog, patrolled the area, but they were unable to find the suspect.

RCMP describe the suspect as a man in his mid-20s, standing 5'8" tall with a medium build. He was wearing all black with an orange and yellow safety vest.
