A nurse from Castlegar got caught making fake vaccine cards and was disciplined by the provincial governing body.
Sara Jones has been given a six month suspension, according to a B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives discipline notice posted, July 15. Jones will also participate in remedial education in professional ethics.
The professional misconduct happened in 2021, the college said.
Jones used her position, experience, credibility in public health and knowledge of the vaccination system to make four fake vaccine cards.

Her story kept changing when she presented her version of events to her employer, witnesses and the college.
"Her conduct was deemed a marked ethical departure from the conduct expected of a nurse,” the college said.
