Keremeos Theatre Camp back for 10th season

Theatre Coach, Bob MacAtmney, teen volunteers and The Grist Mill Gang at work in 2016.

PENTICTON - The Keremeos Grist Mill and Gardens are hosts of the 10th Annual five day theatre camp for kids seven to 12 years old.

The camp is a program of Lower Similkameen Community Services Society funded with BC Gaming Proceeds.

The camp runs Monday through to Friday, August 21 to 25, from 9 a.m. to noon and is a free program.

In past years the kids have developed plays based upon traditional folktales or their own made-up stories in which they improvise scenes with costumes and properties from bins supplied by the local Cawston Players amateur theatre club.

A free public performance will be given at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25th.

Coaches at this year;'s camp will be Su Wolfe and Bob MacAtamney with Dave Cursons in a support role.

As in past years, teens are welcome to join in with the theatre camp as volunteers where they will participate and support the younger folks.

Kids under seven years may attend in the company of an adult caregiver.

Story Theatre registration forms are available at and received by the Keremeos Branch of Okanagan Regional Library.

Inquiries go to Similkameen Famiy Literacy at 250-499-2352 Local 107.
