A Keremeos man is half-a-million dollars richer thanks to a lottery win.
Brian Schwemler plans on taking at least one warm vacation with the $500,000 he won by playing Lotto Max last month, according to a press release from the B.C. Lottery Corporation.
He was the winner of a Maxmillions prize, a million-dollar prize that he split with one other winner from Langley.
Schwemler purchased the winning ticket at his local Canco in Keremeos.

“I first thought, ‘wow’,” he said in the release. “When I scanned the ticket, I didn’t believe it!”
His daughter was the first person to hear the news, and she was thrilled.
Schwemler said it’s hard to describe how it feels to win so much money.
