Kelowna Rockets' star player Tij Iginla was signed his first National Hockey League contract with the Utah Hockey Club.
It's another milestone for Iginla, son of NHL Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla, who was picked sixth overall at the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
The Lake Country local put up 47 goals, and 37 assists in 64 games in his sophomore WHL season. Iginla also helped Canada take home the gold earlier this year at the World Junior Championship in Finland.
He signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Utah team that has yet to finalize a name, according to a press release from the Rockets.
Iginla has already put his skates on the ice in Utah sporting his dad’s number.
