KELOWNA – What they lacked in numbers, they made up for with enthusiasm. Over 1,2000 people took part in the CIBC Run for the Cure in Kelowna’s City Park Sunday morning.
Over $175,000 was raised.
Last year, Run for the Cure saw over 2,000 people raise about $300,000.
The annual fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has been running for 23 years.
According to the Foundation, one in nine Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. In our province, 97 per cent of women diagnosed with breast cancer are still kicking after five years.
