Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna has been voted by people across the globe as the second best ski resort in Canada.

A prestigious magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, surveyed readers from around the world to find out their favourite Canadian hotels, spas, cities and resorts for their Top 5 Ski Resorts in Canada: Reader’s Choice Awards 2021, according to a Big White media release.

The resort earned a score of 80.3, 0.3 points away from the top spot taken by Lake Louise Ski Resort.

With a print readership of five million a month and sixteen million unique users on digital platforms, the 34-year-old magazine has done hundreds and thousands of surveys for its Readers’ Choice Awards.

“As one of the few Canadian family owned and operated resorts in Canada, this award speaks volumes to the commitment our team has to providing a stellar resort experience,” Peter Plimmer, president and CEO of Big White resort said in the release. “We’re very proud to be featured on this list and very grateful to the readers who voted for us.”

Whistler Blackcomb came in third place, Mont-Tremblant in fourth and Le Massif de Charlevoix in fifth.

In 2010, Conde Nast conducted a poll to determine the top 20 resorts in North America and Big White was rated Best Snow in North America.
