Kelowna winery voyeurism investigation results in charges

RCMP

A Kelowna man alleged to have invaded the privacy of Summerhill winery employees by setting up a secret camera now faces a long list of charges.

Ian Michael Leighton, 43, has been charged with 13 counts of Voyeurism contrary to Section 162(1) of the Criminal Code, one charge of Obstruction of Justice contrary to Section 139(2) of the Criminal Code, three charges of Making of Child Pornography contrary to Section 163.1 (2) of the Criminal Code, one charge of Possession of Child Pornography contrary to Section 163.1 (4) of the Criminal Code

‎"The investigation was led by the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section," Const. Solana Paré said in a press release. "The investigators continue to support the victims involved, and will aid in supporting the prosecution as the investigation now transitions to the judicial process."

When news broke this summer, Summerhill CEO Ezra Cipes confirmed only that an employee was arrested and that the staff was working to get through the difficult time together.

RCMP say no further information will be released as the matter is now before the court.
