KELOWNA - Motorbikes aren't safe even when locked in sea-cans, it would seem.

Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help in tracking down a dirt bike that was stolen back in February. It's another theft in a long line of motorbike-related crimes that seem to plague the Central Okanagan.

According to a press release, a 2007 Honda XR650R dirt bike was stored in a sea-can at the 500 block of Adams Road along with a 2010 Dewalt DG3000 generator. On Feb. 21, the bike owners discovered the lock for the sea-can was cut and the bike and generator were gone.

The bike's VIN number is JH2RE01057K800726. It has Two-Brothers full stainless steel exhaust, an Acerbis oversize fuel tank, an Acerbis Enduro headlight and Dunlop D606 tires.

The theft of a dirt bike is hardly new in the Central Okanagan. An article from iNFOnews.ca earlier this year showed that motorbikes are often a favourite target for thieves.

Anyone with information on the stolen 2007 Honda dirt bike is asked to Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
