A Kelowna man is going to jail for a series of burglaries in the Lower Mainland.

In August of 2022, the North Vancouver RCMP received reports of four separate break and enters to apartment buildings in the Lonsdale Avenue corridor, according to an RCMP media release. Mailrooms and storage lockers were targeted by the suspect.

With the assistance of the Kelowna RCMP, North Van’s officers identified a suspect responsible for all four incidents.

Curtis David Smith of Kelowna pleaded guilty to four counts of break and enter in North Vancouver court on Nov. 7, and was sentenced to 60 days in jail and one year of probation.

“The reality is police work collaboratively across British Columbia to arrest and stop the victimization of property owners,” RCMP media relations officer Const. Mansoor Sahak said in the release.
