Update: 11:25 a.m. Nov. 20

A 16-year-old Kelowna girl is missing and may be hitchhiking to Saskatchewan, say police.

The RCMP is asking for help locating Demi Rempel who left home on the 1400 block of Terai Road Nov. 19 leaving a note saying she didn't want to return.

Rempel may be travelling with a 20-year-old man from Regina who recently moved to Kelowna. The man mentioned he'd like to hitchhike back to Regina and disappeared around the same time as Rempel, said police.

Officers also have information that suggests Rempel and the 20-year-old man may be travelling east on the Trans-Canada Highway.

The family is worried about Rempel's well-being. There are concerns she may have been experimenting with drugs and alcohol.

Demi Rempel is described as Caucasian, 5'5", 130 lbs with long brown hair and blue eyes. She wears dark-framed glasses.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Demi Rempel is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
