Kelowna Rockets double up on visiting Blazers

KELOWNA - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 4-2 on Saturday night in front of a sold out crowd at Prospera Place in Kelowna, coming back from the WHL Christmas break with a solid win.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first period and 2-2 after the second before the Rockets took over in the third, scoring twice to earn the win improving to a WHL-best 29-5-3-0 on the season.

Rourke Chartier returned to the Rockets lineup for the first time since being one of the final cuts from Team Canada's World Junior team and scored twice to lead the Rockets offense.

Chartier now has a WHL-leading 34 goals on the season. Tyson Baillie also scored for the Rockets putting home his 24th of the season, while rookie Dillon Dube scored his seventh goal in just 12 games for the Rockets.

Jackson Whistle earned the win in net.

The Rockets are back in action on Tuesday when they host the Prince George Cougars in the team's final game before New Years.
