Kelowna RCMP are trying to find an elderly man so they can return his bicycle to him.

On Friday, Aug. 4, a Kelowna resident was leaving Kelowna Crossing Mall when he came across a very visibly upset elderly man, according to an RCMP media release.

The man’s bicycle had been stolen. The Kelowna local comforted him and took a description of the bicycle, letting him know that he would keep an eye out for it.

Later that day, the same local man found a bicycle that matched the exact description the elderly man had given him and bought it to Kelowna RCMP Regional detachment.

The good Samaritan did not get a name or any contact information for the elderly man but he is hoping to get the message out to him so that he can be reunited with his bicycle again.

If you recognize this bicycle and know who owes it, you are asked to get them to contact the Kelowna RCMP non-emergency line at 250-762-3300 and reference the file number 2023-45631.

Proof will be required before the bicycle can be claimed.
