KELOWNA - The search is on the hunt for a man suspected of robbing the downtown Kelowna branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia this afternoon.

Kelowna RCMP flooded the area after a report of a robbery at the bank in the 400 block of Bernard Avenue today, April 23, Kelowna RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a press release.

Police say the man came into the bank just after noon and demanded money before taking off on foot.

The alleged thief is described as being white male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 6' tall, with a scruffy face, brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red and white jacket with a hood, police say.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Const. Steve McBride at 250-762-3300.
