Kelowna RCMP searching for man who offered boys a ride

The Kelowna RCMP is investigating after a man allegedly approached two children and offered them a ride.

The man approached two boys on Arbor View Drive in Kelowna in his vehicle at roughly 1:30 p.m., March 22 and asked them if they wanted to get into his vehicle.

The boys declined his offer and he drove away but was seen by them several times again around that time.

The unknown man was described as having a prominent nose, and was driving a dark grey or black older model pickup truck, according to the RCMP in a press release.

“We are actively working to identify the man and determine his intentions. We are also working to determine if this incident is related in any way to the other suspicious person reports we’ve received recently,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy with the Kelowna RCMP.

“This incident is concerning, and we are appealing to any witnesses, or persons with surveillance video or dashcam footage, to come forward and speak with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online.
