Kelowna RCMP executed a search warrant last week and were rewarded with a cache of stolen bikes.

The search warrant was executed on April 21 on a Kelowna storage locker during an investigation into stolen property.

Inside the storage locker was 11 bicycles in various stages of disassembly, in addition to paint, tools and various bike parts.

Investigators have been able to confirm at least three of the bikes were reported stolen. The three bikes were valued at more than $5,000.

“We are working to identify the owners of the other bikes seized in this investigation. It’s important to record the make, model, and serial number of your bike, and to report it to police if it’s stolen. We often recover bikes and are unable to identify owners to return them,” police spokesperson Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in a statement released this morning, April 28.

The investigation continues. No charges have been laid as yet.
