Kelowna RCMP have issued a plea to two men to come forward to tell them what they witnessed in the UBC Okanagan building where student Mona Wang was dragged down a hall by an RCMP officer doing a 'wellness check.'

In a release, police didn't specify the plea was part of that investigation, but the still images released, dates, time and location match the Mona Wang case. The RCMP said the Southeast District General Investigation Section are looking to identify the men "in relation to an ongoing investigation."

"On Jan. 20, 2020 at approximately 5:45 p.m., two men were captured on video in the lobby of a residential building located at 883 Academy Way, Kelowna," RCMP spokesperson Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in the release. "Despite significant efforts, police have not yet been able to identify the two men."

The two men were captured on video in the lobby of the UBCO student residence at 883 Academy Way, Kelowna.

The second unknown man is described as; dark skinned, with dark hair and facial hair, wearing a dark coloured (possibly blue) winter jacket, with an orange lined hood and a dark coloured backpack. This man is seen in the photo entering the lobby through the glass doors.

Mona Wang is suing the RCMP for how she was treated when Const. Lacy Browning arrived to perform a 'wellness check' after Wang's boyfriend called police concerned about her mental health. Video from the UBCO residence showed Browning dragging the handcuffed student down a hall, then later stepping on her head with a boot and lifting her head by her hair.
