Kelowna RCMP officers and the City of Kelowna are investigating after new buildings at Gyro beach were vandalized with spray paint.

On June 22, just before 1 p.m., Kelowna RCMP Community Safety Unit officers became aware of vandalism to City buildings at Gyro beach in the 3400 block of Lakeshore Road after it was reported by residents.

"Officers noted large graffiti tags with the characters 'SEKC' in red spray paint," reads an RCMP news release.

“Our officers were advised that the graffiti appeared sometime overnight between June 21 and June 22,” RCMP Const. Solana Paré says in the news release. “Investigators are looking for witnesses who may recognize the tag. The Kelowna RCMP want to remind those responsible that graffiti and other vandalism is a criminal offence.”
