Kelowna police searching for driver who forced a vehicle off Highway 33

RCMP have found a vehicle but not the driver after an incident on Highway 33 between Kelowna and Beaverdell yesterday, March 24, at about 11:30 a.m.

Police got a call from a vehicle reporting an erratic driver heading north on the highway.

A short time later, the caller reported that the vehicle had collided with their vehicle, forced it off the road, then fled the scene.

Police closed the highway near Trapping Creek Forest Service Road while they investigated the incident but the road has since reopened.

The suspect vehicle was found but police were unable to locate the driver.

“At this time, the extent and nature of the injuries to the driver and passenger of the vehicle forced off the road is unknown,” an RCMP news release states.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving information online at www.crimestoppers.net.
