Kelowna police nab two men suspected of business break-in

KELOWNA - Two men caught red-handed in the secure compound of a business early yesterday morning didn't go quietly.

Employees at an unidentified business on Guy Street downtown arrived to work around 7 a.m. and found the two men, RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says in a release today, April 23. He says the men had bear spray and bolt cutters and threatened the employees before they fled.

“Both suspects were taken into police custody, without further incident, at nearby Sutherland Bay Park,” O’Donaghey says. “Those arrested suspects were later positively identified by police, who determined that one of those men had breached the conditions of release related to his probation order.”

Two men from Kelowna, aged 35 and 37, were arrested and held in custody until they could attend court today.

If you witnessed this incident and have not yet spoken to police you are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
