A Kelowna operating room nurse is making her debut on Big Brother Canada.

Rianne Swanson has been described as a “social butterfly and will have no problem maintaining a persuasive game,” according to Big Brother Canada’s website.

The 29-year-old is one of 16 houseguests, including one from Kamloops, which will compete for a grand prize of $100,000 during Season 8 of Big Brother Canada.

The reality TV show follows the houseguests, who live together in a custom-built home under constant video surveillance, as they compete in a series of challenges.

Originally from Chetwynd, B.C., the self-described Tom Boy said she likes to let loose.

“I don’t think I turn into a different person when I get rowdy, but I kind of go from level 10 to level 20. You’re going to see crazy Ri Ri in the house,” she said in her bio.

Unafraid of confrontation, she said in her bio that it’s important for the girls to rally around one another.

The Season 8 houseguests are also competing for $10,000 worth of groceries courtesy of Summer Fresh; and an unforgettable trip for two anywhere in the world from Expedia.

Last season, Dane Rupert, the gap-toothed Kelowna hockey player, walked away with $100,000 and the winning title.

The new season premieres March 4, at 7 p.m. on Global.
