KELOWNA - A quick response from a trio of Kelowna RCMP officers is credited with saving the life of a woman pulled from her from a burning van.

An existing medical condition is what police believe caused the early morning single-vehicle collision in the parking lot of the Sheraton Four Points Hotel near Kelowna International Airport, media officer Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a press release.

A 30-year-old Kelowna woman hit a pole in the hotel parking lot with her Dodge Grand Caravan and was unresponsive when officers arrived, O’Donaghey says.

The officers smashed the front windows of the van and pulled the woman out and away from the burning vehicle.

The woman was taken to hospital and RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the incident who hasn’t already spoken with an officer to contact them at 250-762-3300.
