Kamloops RCMP found a firearm and drugs when officers arrested a Kelowna man on a Canada-wide warrant yesterday.
Officers were called to the 700 block of Downie Street just before 7 a.m. yesterday, Dec. 5, to check on a suspicious car.
The car was running for "a couple hours" with its headlights on. The Kelowna man in the car was wanted for a warrant out of Yellowknife, according to an RCMP news release.
Moosa Mohammad Khan, 22, was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for possession of property obtained by crime.
“A search of the vehicle also led to the seizure of a loaded firearm, suspected illegal drugs, and cash,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
He was scheduled to appear in court for the warrant, but he hasn't been charged for any offences since Kamloops RCMP searched the car.
“That investigation is ongoing and separate from the warrant execution," Evelyn said.
