KELOWNA - Police say a knife may have been used during an assault in the 3900 block of Gallaghers Parkway around 12:30 p.m. today, Sept. 27.
A press release from Kelowna RCMP says police and paramedics were called following reports of a violent disturbance inside a home. The Mounties arrived on scene and arrested a 23-year-old Kelowna man without incident. The suspect, who is known to the victim, remains in custody and could be facing charges.
“The victim, a 26-year-old Kelowna man, was rushed from the scene by B.C. Ambulance Service to hospital for treatment of his injuries,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey in the release, noting he suffered 'serious injuries.' “The seriousness of the victim's injuries are unknown at this time, therefore RCMP are unable to classify whether or not those injuries are life threatening in nature.”
The crime scene remains secured by the Kelowna RCMP as the investigation continues. The case is being handled by the General Investigations Section.
