A Kelowna man caught on camera shouting racist statements to a South Asian security guard has been found not guilty of charges from the event.
Bruce Orydzuk, 62, was charged with causing a disturbance but was found not guilty March 19 by Provincial Court Judge David Ruse.
Orydzuk was caught on camera by an iNFOnews.ca covering a freedom rally protest at a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in July 2021. He started by yelling at the reporter until security guard Anmol Singh intervened. That's when Orydzuk turned his attention to Singh, telling him “you are not a Canadian, you are disgusting. Go back to your country, you’re not a Canadian, beat it, you’re disgusting. You don’t know Canadian laws."
Police charged him with causing a disturbance because of the remarks to Singh.
