KELOWNA - Power has been restored to thousands who were left in the dark this afternoon.
The Fortis BC website indicates that the lights went back on for the nearly 13,000 customers who were without power from downtown to Rutland, today, Sept. 30.
While the website said the cause is unknown, people in the blackout area have indicated a crash took out an area power transformer and that's causing difficulties.
Traffic lights at intersections throughout the city caused big backups. Even Global Okanagan's evening news was knocked out by the power outage.
Check the Fortis website for an update.
