KELOWNA - An impaired driver was taken off the road last night after police conducted a roadside intoxication test.

A 19-year-old man had his truck towed from Hein Road after being pulled over by police, according to an RCMP release.

The officer pulled him over for speeding and dangerous driving and while the officer spoke with the driver he noticed signs of intoxication. A breath test was conducted, which the driver failed.

The driver’s truck was impounded for 30 days and the man received a 90-day driving prohibition.

“RCMP would like to remind the general public to report impaired drivers to police,” Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release. “Aggressive and dangerous driving behaviour is often an indicator that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs.”
