A Kelowna director's movie, The Island Between Tides, is making its way to BC theatres this spring.
Set in Northern BC, Andrew Holmes' film is based on J.M. Barrie's gothic bedtime story Mary Rose, where time stands still on a remote island and mysterious melodies lead to adventure.
Written by Holmes, as well as Calgary's Austin Andrews, the film has found viewing success and community support, despite the ongoing trade war between Canada and the United States, according to a press release.
The film, The Island Between Tides, will be available for viewing at Landmark’s Grand 10 Cinemas this Friday in Kelowna and is in theatres March 21 to March 28. and will be played across British Columbia.
The film continues viewing across BC after becoming the number one screened film at Vancouver’s Cineplex International Village Theatre and Prince Rupert’s Famous Players over the weekend of March 7.
The Island Between Tides is also the first film to be shot in Prince Rupert, which was made possible through Telefilm Canada.
This Canadian supernatural thriller was screened last year as a world premiere at the opening night for the Cinequest Film Festival of 2024, and was shown to a sold-out crowd in California. The film was also shown at festivals in Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Wales, Belgium, Puerto Rico and the film even won Best Feature Film at Utah’s FilmQuest.
Those who are interested in viewing the film can check out tickets here.
