PEACHLAND - A Kelowna man is in hospital for treatment to his injured legs after being on the losing side of a collision between a bicycle and a car last night.

Emergency crews found a 35-year-old Kelowna cyclist suffering from leg injuries on Drought Hill in Peachland yesterday, April 11, just after 11 p.m., according to

Police say a driver of a grey Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with the cyclist while they were both southbound on Highway 97. The driver, a Peachland woman, is cooperating with the investigators. Drugs and alcohol were ruled out as contributing factors in the accident.

The cyclist, who was conscious and breathing at the scene, was taken to hospital for further assessment of his injuries, which are believed to be non-life-threatening, RCMP say.

Any witnesses to the accident can call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
