Kelowna cyclist in hospital after colliding with dump truck

A Kelowna cyclist is now in the hospital after colliding with a dump truck yesterday afternoon.

On June 4, at approximately 1 p.m., Kelowna RCMP assisted emergency medical crews who were responding to a report of a collision near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Richter Street, according to the RCMP in a news release.

The dump truck was turning onto Richter Street from the eastbound lane of Harvey Ave when it collided with a cyclist who was also eastbound on Harvey Ave, according to the RCMP.

The cyclist, a woman in her 30s, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital, according to the news release.

The dump truck driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the RCMP.
