KELOWNA - The World Mixed Doubles and Senior Curling Championship is coming to Kelowna.
It will be held at the Kelowna Curling Club from April 18 to 25, 2020.
"The Kelowna Curling Club is very proud to have been given an opportunity to showcase our club and city to the curling world,” Kelowna Curling Club General Manager Jock Tyre, said in a news release. “Our world class volunteers did such an amazing job with the 2018 world mixed that it makes us feel very prepared to step it up a notch with the World Seniors and Mixed Doubles.”
Kelowna also hosted the world women’s championship in 1986 and the world juniors in 2002.
The 2018 event was estimated to have generated $1.21 million in economic impact, Lisanne Ballantyne, Tourism Kelowna’s president said in the news release.
