Mounties are investigating reports of a group assault in downtown Kelowna.
Kelowna RCMP responded May 8, just before 9 p.m., to a report of multiple people fighting at the Queensway bus loop in downtown Kelowna, Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in a press release.
At the scene, officers located two unconscious men and one injured man.
"The police investigation has determined that one of the men had been assaulted by another group of people in the area," Noseworthy said in the release.
"The other injured people had allegedly attempted to intervene to stop the assault on him. The second group had fled the area prior to police arrival."
Two 20-year-old men were transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services for treatment of their injuries and Mounties located one suspect just after midnight.
He was arrested without incident and was later released from custody on conditions.
The investigation is ongoing to identify the other persons involved in this assault.
