Council gave first reading to amendments to the Official Community Plan that include design guidelines for the form and character of development in the Civic Precinct Plan Area, and amendments to the future land use for five sites to support the Mixed-Use Residential/Commercial designation. The amendments are forwarded to a public hearing on Nov. 29 and will support the goals of enhanced activity and vibrancy in our downtown.
Quarterly report
Council received an update on the City’s activities for the third quarter of 2016. Highlights include hitting a construction value of $161 million, nearly 160,000 Kelowna International Airport passengers (the highest number of passengers in one month in YLW history), a number of great outdoor events including Canada Day and the Apple Triathlon, coordinating an airport emergency exercise and completion of the Library parkade expansion.

Posted time limits remain in effect to ensure convenient parking spaces are turned over for new customers. All other parking restrictions (i.e. accessible permit parking, yellow curbs) remain in effect.
