Kelowna bus crashes into home after being struck by pickup

FILE PHOTO

A bus struck a home after colliding with a pickup truck at the intersection of Cadder Avenue and Richter Street in Kelowna yesterday.

Mounties were called March 16 just before 9 p.m., to the intersection of Cadder Avenue and Richter Street in Kelowna. A GMC Canyon allegedly failed to stop at a red light and collided with a B.C.Transit bus which then struck the corner of a home on Richter Street.

“We were incredibly fortunate that the only injuries reported were bumps and bruises as a result of this incident,” Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP said in a press release. “The driver of the GMC Canyon was issued a violation ticket under the BC Motor Vehicle Act for failure to stop at a red light.”

This matter is still under investigation.
