KAMLOOPS - Here's what you will face on the commute in Kamloops this week.

The southwest off ramp of the Overlanders Bridge remains closed to all traffic and southbound traffic is being rerouted to Seymour Street, according to the City of Kamloops.

Heavy trucks are asked to avoid the Overlanders Bridge and use alternate routes. All trucks travelling southbound across the bridge must detour to the TransCanada Highway via Seymour Street and are not permitted access to First Avenue.

As the quality of the concrete pour can be impacted by excessive vibration on the bridge deck, motorists are reminded of the 30 kilometre per hour speed limit through the construction zone.

Both the Fortune Drive sidewalk and the pedestrian ramp connecting Fortune Drive to Tranquille Road remain closed to pedestrians.

Work continues on Columbia Street in the two center lanes between Third and Sixth Avenues. Traffic is restricted to the east and westbound curb lanes with one lane open in either direction.

All driveway accesses on Columbia Street between Third and Sixth Avenues are now permanently restricted to right in, right out meaning turning movements are restricted.

The south sidewalk between Third and Sixth Avenues remains closed. Pedestrians are advised to use the north sidewalk and the crosswalks at Third and Fourth Avenues to access the south side businesses or hospital.

Because of increased traffic on First Avenue due to re-routed traffic from the Overlanders Bridge, the westbound curb lane of Columbia Street between First and Second Avenues remains temporarily closed.

During the next week, Twelth Street residents can expect single lane alternating traffic, as well as intermittent full closures with detours in effect.

Finally, construction is still ongoing on the Cascades Casino. Sections of both Versatile and Hugh Allen Drives are down to a single lane. The Highway 1 eastbound exit, at Pacific Way, is also closed.
