Kamloopsians are about to arrive in futuristic style, thanks to the city’s first ever Tesla limousine service.
The Passenger Transportation Board has approved Arabellrides to operate in Kamloops and the business already has a license from the City to operate.
The SUV limousine service will use a Tesla Model X to take people to weddings, birthdays, graduations and other parties in style, according to a media release from the company.
“We are expanding transportation options for the people of Kamloops and (Thompson Nicola Regional District) region by providing a quiet, stylish and eco-friendly fleet while creating jobs and supporting B.C. and Kamloops sustainability goals,” Arabellrides owner Peter Akarakiri said in the release.
The company says its service falls in line with the City of Kamloops's Transportation Master Plan, which states that 31 per cent of residents feel greenhouse gas emission levels are unacceptable, and an immediate shift from private vehicles to more sustainable options is required.
