KAMLOOPS - A Kamloops woman has had her birthday wish come true after winning Set for Life.
It's all thanks to Melody Manuel's husband, who gifted her the winning ticket. According to a media release from the B.C. Lottery Corporation, she will receive an annuity prize of $1,000 a week for the next 25 years, and Manuel is looking forward to living carefree.
"It's good knowing there's always going to be steady income coming in," Manuel says in the release. "It ultimately means I can enjoy life more."
It also means Manuel can pay off some debt and go on a shopping spree.
“I still have to prioritize what to buy first,” Manuel says. “My dream list includes: a house, maybe a new vehicle and a nice vacation.”
The winning Set for Life 15th Anniversary ticket was purchased at Paul Lake Husky in Kamloops.
