KAMLOOPS - A Kamloops woman who was convicted for stealing a senior's identity to get breast enhancement, liposuction and tummy tuck surgeries is back behind bars.
Brandie Bloor, 40, appeared briefly in Kamloops Provincial Court via video today, Dec. 22. She was scheduled for a bail hearing, but it was adjourned until next week so she could find a lawyer.
Last month, an arrest warrant was issued for Bloor after 14 new charges were laid against her. The charges span nearly two years, the first alleged offence happening in July 2012 and the last in February 2014.
The charges include forgery, personation, using a forged document and identity theft.
Bloor was sentenced to nine months in jail last year after pleading guilty to fraud and identity theft. Bloor completed the procedures in November 2013 after using the 83-year-old man’s name and identity to obtain a $15,000 loan to pay for them.
Court heard she made the first payment, but after failing to make subsequent payments, her co-signer, which she listed as her grandfather, received a letter from the loan company.
The senior then contacted the RCMP, but after speaking with investigators Bloor convinced them she was another victim of identity theft.
Equipped with a search warrant, police went to Bloor's home where before and after photos of her were found along with a paper trail connecting her to the procedures.
