A Kamloops resident is a $1 million richer thanks to a lottery win, and she'll be using the windfall to tick items off her bucket list.
Elizabeth Czajkowski was working from home earlier this month when she checked her ticket from the Nov. 1 Lotto 6/49 draw, according to a BC Lottery Corporation media release.
“I didn’t understand,” Czajkowski said in the release. “I thought there were too many zeros!”
She first shared the news with her boss who reacted with laughter and excitement. Then her kids and a close friend were informed, both of whom were in disbelief.
Czajkowski treated her sister and parents to a pizza dinner over which they celebrated her winnings.
Her winnings will allow her to buy a new vehicle and check items off her bucket list such as visiting hot springs, trips to Mexico and Scotland. She also plans to save money for retirement.
