Kamloops woman crashed into a police car with stolen vehicle

A Kamloops woman allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle into a cop car while attempting to flee from police in a stolen vehicle on Friday.

Just before 4 p.m. on Jan. 12, Kamloops RCMP received a call saying someone stole a vehicle in the 600 block of Alberni Avenue.

“Officers tracked the vehicle to an area in the 600 block of Kamloopa Road,” Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in a media release.

“The driver allegedly collided with a police vehicle while attempting to evade capture. She was arrested without incident after the vehicle she was driving became disabled.”

Shaina Juarez, 23, of Kamloops has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with a court order and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from police and theft of a motor vehicle.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the T’Kemlups Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2024-1184.
