Kamloops woman, 19, charged after stabbing in Chase; multiple victims

A 19-year-old Kamloops woman has been charged after a stabbing earlier this month.

At around 11 p.m. on Aug. 8, police were notified of a stabbing in Chase. Officers found a group of intoxicated female teenagers and young adults, several of whom were bleeding from injuries.

According to a media release from the RCMP, the group had been partying when a fight broke out between two of the females. One broke a bottle and stabbed the other. Police report that some of the other females joined in on the fight and at least four were injured as a result. It is not certain the severity of the injuries the girls sustained, although one of them had exposed bone and tendon.

Two ambulances arrived to take some of the injured to the hospital, while others relied on their parents.

The Kamloops teen was also injured during the fight. She was kept in custody overnight and faces charges of aggravated assault.
