KAMLOOPS –The City of Kamloops and PacificSport Interior B.C. are proud to announce that ten athletes, two coaches and two mission staff from our region will represent our province as part of Team B.C. for the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games in Wood Buffalo, Alta. A contingent of 427 people including 334 athletes, 47 coaches, 24 managers, and 22 mission staff make up Team B.C. and they will compete against the best in the west in 18 sports.

This interior contingent are representing the sports of swimming, canoe/kayak, judo, indoor volleyball and athletics.

“I am honoured to be selected to represent Team B.C. as Mission Staff and excited to learn from the top coaches, officials and sport administrators from the Western provinces and territories.  Experiencing multi-sport games and sport administration at this level will allow me to bring this knowledge back to Kamloops where we can incorporate it into program delivery, as well as athlete and coach development,” Nicole Beauregard, Sport Development Coordinator for the City of Kamloops, said.

From playground to podium, the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department and PacificSport Interior B.C. have a strong partnership in program delivery and strive to provide opportunities for all citizens to be active for life. Fostering relationships with local, provincial and national sport organizations allows continued exposure as Canada’s Tournament Capital for both the City of Kamloops and PacificSport Interior B.C.
