For some kids, figuring out what you want to be when you grow up may be a struggle but that’s no issue for one Kamloops toddler.

Adeline Moreau, 3, was introduced to the world of firefighting through her favourite TV show, Paw Patrols, and was recently gifted a tour of the Kamloops fire hall and museum for her third birthday, thanks to her mom Colleen Moreau.

“She started getting more interested in firefighters, fire halls and fire trucks,” Colleen says. “When I would ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up she would say a fire truck which is adorable so I made a post on my Facebook asking if any friends could connect me with a firefighter.”

And just like that, Moreau heard back from a friend who said her neighbour was a firefighter and could arrange a tour of the fire hall and museum on Summit Drive.

Kamloops Fire Rescue investigator Kevin Cassidy volunteered to give a tour. The toddler was shown the various trucks, got to ring the bell and push as many buttons as she could.

“He brought her to the living area and he introduced her to a bunch of firefighters,” Colleen says.

She even got her own firefighter hat to take home.

“She had a blast and can’t stop talking about it.”
