Kamloops RCMP are hoping someone recognizes a theft suspect and the young child who was will him.
It happened yesterday, May 10, around 10:35 a.m. at a business in the Valleyview Square, according to an RCMP media release
Among the items stolen were a red Fill-Rite Fuel Pump and a pair of shears. The truck, which had license plates that were reported stolen out of Merritt, was a white Ford F-250.
“The suspect was in the company of a school-aged boy, approximately eight to 10 years old,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “We are releasing an image of the suspect and a non-identifying image of the boy, in hopes that someone from the public will recognize them and contact police so that we may further the investigation.”
The man is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing an orange hoodie with a white logo on the left, a ball cap with sunglasses on top, dark pants and grey shoes.
The eight-to-10-year-old boy is described as Caucasian with light coloured hair. He was wearing dark clothing and a hoodie with a red logo on the left.
Anyone who can identify the suspect, child, or has information about the stolen fuel pump, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-16193.
