Kamloops teen stabbed during fight involving large group of young people

KAMLOOPS – A 17-year-old boy was stabbed during a fight among a large group of young people in Kamloops last night.

RCMP say officers were called to a disturbance in the Monarch Court area of Kamloops at around 10 p.m. yesterday, Feb. 2.

There were reports a large group of young people were involved in a fight and someone was stabbed, according to an RCMP media release.

“Upon attendance to the scene, as well as Royal Inland Hospital, it was determined a 17-year-old male was suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound,” Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk says in the release.

The teen is in hospital in serious condition.

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy at the scene of the fight and he will be appearing in court later today.

No word yet what charges the teen is facing.
